The new NFL logo went into use at the 2008 draft.

***GEEK OUT ALERT***

My hobby is being a football fan, college and pro. Each year I really enjoy the period where the stars of college audition for and are then drafted onto NFL teams. More and more with concussions etc, it is a “young man’s game”, so knowing the best up and coming players gives you the greatest advantage (read: enjoyment) as an educated fan and fantasy player. The “Scouting Combine” is the annual gathering of the top college players where there are tested by their prospective employers to see if their past success will translate into future glories. Each year, players make and lose millions of dollars at the Combine by helping or hurting their draft stock. I think it’s super cool to have a group to watch and adjust your rankings accordingly, like a real live scout would. Like I said, geek out alert. 🙂

Inspired by Mike “The Man” Mayock’s first list (http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0ap1000000139744/article/precombine-position-rankings-for-2013-nfl-draft), here are my initial rankings for the 2013 NFL draft. As usual I don’t know enough about Offensive Linemen to rank them, I will leave that to others. Also, FB, K and P don’t count…
