I have never watched Duck Dynasty and never will. I know the “stars” of the show are Bible believing Christians. That’s all I need to know. Phil Robertson (nor any of us) are allowed to preach the Bible. That is the goal of the enemy. God’s Kingdom and Babylon are at war. Always have been (Genesis 11) and will be until Babylon falls at Christ’s Return (Revelation 18-19). Babylon means “confusion”. God is clear and consistent. Babylon attempts to usurp God – it says “we know better”. “We will build that Tower higher, we will unite the world against Him, we will Rule. ” Putting fear into Godly people is how it works. It’s a fear that creeps into your soul of proclaiming the Gospel, of rebuking evil, of proclaiming the plain Truth. You know of what I speak. “That feeling”. Fear of man is not something that God created in you, and it cannot remain in you to Walk with Him (1John 4:18). Look to the book of Acts for goodness sake – did those Christians fear anything including their own death? Where are those men and women of God today?? Truly, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few! We are not to be conformed to this world, but holy, a living example to the Lost. Is the Robertson family doing things right? Seems like the are, but many more are needed. There are consequences to be paid, no doubt about it. Either to man or to God, your choice.

Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues…

Yup, that’s the real title of the last book in the Bible. It’s not “Revelations”, and it IS extremely relevant to us today as most things in it have not happened yet. The first verse is where the title comes from, and is instructive in and of itself: “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place”. Revealing or “uncovering” the previously hidden regarding the end of this world that His BOND SERVANTS MUST KNOW. The various denominations of Christianity have utterly failed in teaching this key to God’s Word. And do are you Yeshua’s “bond servant”? That’s quite a bit more specific than “follower” isn’t it…

Have you ever studied it in your Church? Not just a verse here and there (though in my experience as a former Catholic the book is NEVER even mentioned), but really STUDIED it? How about individually? God is going to hold you personally accountable for it, so you may want to get cracking. To this end, starting tonight on my radio show I will be going through the entire book, line by line. Darn near EVERY verse in this incredible volume is a reference to another book in the Bible; the proof of its Authenticity.  Yes it is full of symbology – this is intentional – but it is not an excuse for you not to know it. The 2 biggest lies about it are: 1. It’s all (or most all) in the past, there is no application today. and 2. you don’t have to understand it, you’re going to be gone (IE raptured away) before it happens. Is God telling you right now that you should understand it? Then let’s go because time is short.

 

God says homosexuality is a sin

Amazingly, many Christians will be shocked to read that. But to think it’s not is to declare abject ignorance of God’s Word – both Old and New Testaments. Here are some basic truths for all who read on:

We are all sinners who need the atoning blood of Jesus Christ to avoid God’s Wrath. We all fall short of His Glory (including the men who penned the Bible).

Homosexuality is not the unforgivable sin.

We are to love those engaged in that sin just like we love anyone engaged in any sin.

To simply repeat what God says about it is not being “intolerant” or “hateful” in any way, shape or form.

So what does the Bible say exactly? Isn’t it just one verse in the Old Testament that doesn’t mean anything anymore?

Gen. 19:4-5  – the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. (this is where we get the word “Sodomy”)

Lev. 18:22 – Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Lev. 20:13 – If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination

Judg. 19:22-24 – Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him…Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.

Ok, but Jesus said that homosexuality was bad in the OT but was good now, right? Wrong!

Matt. 5:17 – Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matt. 19:4-5 – Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Luke 16:17 – And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

How about some more New Testament proof?

Rom. 1:26-27 – For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

1 Cor. 6:9 – Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind (IE “male prostitutes and homosexual offenders”)

Gal. 5:19 – Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness (fornication = sexual acts condemned in the OT)

Eph. 5:3 – But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you

Col. 3:5 – Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry

1 Tim. 1:10 – For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine

Jude 1:7 – Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire

So why is it so “controversial” to just repeat what God says on the topic? Anyone who has a problem with the scriptures clear teachings on this have a problem with GOD and nobody else. There is a blog/website I frequent called ProFootballTalk.com. Today, owner Mike Florio once again waded into this topic (he has been doing so regularly over the past few weeks) even though people go there only to, you know, Talk Pro Football. He continuously injects the Bible as a reason NOT to reject homosexuality. Huh? The more he does it, the dumber he looks. He can deflect and project onto others the very real problem he has with his Father on this topic, but those of us who are Biblically literate see the truth. All sin is a choice. An “abomination” is something that really pisses God off. Why? Because just look at your “parts”! It’s an insult to the Creator of the male and female body. Nobody is “born gay”. Like all sin, engaging in homosexual sex is a conscious choice of the individual which they will have to make an accounting for.  You want to say there is no God and the Bible is a myth, then at least your logic is sound. But to accept God and especially the covering blood sacrifice of Jesus (as Mike Florio and countless others do) and insist that homosexuality is not a sin proves how much you don’t care about Him or yourself.

Easter” is un-Biblical linguistically, and in practice, anti-Biblical. The one and only time it appears in the Bible is Acts 12:4 and it is an obvious mistranslation. The Greek word there is “pascha” which in every other instance in the NT (that’s 28 other times) is Passover. The obvious reason being “pascha” is the Greek form of the Hebrew word “pecach” which we English speakers know as “Passover”. Jesus celebrated Passover with no command (explicit or implicit) for us to stop. The “Last Supper” was the Passover meal. 1Cor. 5:7 says plainly “Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us”. Heb. 9:12 clearly lays out, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”. There are multiple other scriptures in both the OT and NT identifying Jesus as the “Lamb Slain” and the “Lamb of God”. It is clear that the Passover in the OT was foreshadowing Jesus and His sacrifice/resurrection and is equally clear that the first Christians (for 400 years and beyond) celebrated Passover in remembrance of Him. We are to do the same. “And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer…this do in remembrance of me.”

In fact, the name “Easter” is just a form of the pagan fertility goddess Ishtar worshipped by the Assyrians. She was known as Ashtoreth by the Phoenicians (see the books of 1st and 2nd Kings) and Astarte by the Greeks and Romans. The book of Jeremiah simply refers to her as “Queen of Heaven” and God is NOT happy with those who honor her. Don’t think you honor the spring time sexual fertility goddess? Ever hunt for eggs or put “bunnies” in your home at this time of year? Ever stop to think why eggs and bunnies? Couldn’t have less to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, right? Exactly! It is not “innocent fun”, it’s corrupting the Church to the foundations. And Satan LOVES it. Passover, not “Easter”, is the highest holy day for Christianity and it’s about time we treated it like that.

Ok, so when is Passover each year? It is NOT when your wall calendar says it is! Time and time again in the OT, we are told that the Passover is eaten on the 14th day of the 1st month. When does the Biblical year (hence the 1st month) begin? Simple, on the Vernal Equinox. 2 weeks after the first day of Spring each year, it is Passover! Why do we not recon this based on the moon (lunar cycles)? 1Thes. 5:5, “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness”. There is also a reason why it lasts for 7 days. The first 3.5 days commemorate the time between the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. The 2nd 3.5 days look forward to His Return when He will reign on the earth for 1,000 years. Get over the “it’s a Jewish thing” lie and follow Him. For my household, I read a simple few pages of scriptures and we eat some matzos with horseradish and sip some wine along with some feet washing. Takes about 15 minutes. Also at some point during the next week I will watch the outstanding film The Passion of the Christ to remind me just how much he suffered for me and my sin. By His stripes we are healed…

Bad things, Good people

How many times have you heard or even said, “Why to bad things happen to good people”? Conceptually, I understand the spirit in which it is asked. It’s another way of saying, “If there really is a loving God, why does he let bad things happen to good people”? It is the inquiry of a small child who doesn’t understand asked to his/her parent. First and foremost, God has already answered this for us if you believe the Bible is His Word: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” – Matt. 5:44-45

God is not only “God” but also your Father. He loves all of His children, good or bad. His sacrifice was for both the just and the unjust (1Pet. 3:18) – He is willing that all come to repentance. The sun comes up every day (or “good things happen”), for both the good and the bad. It rains (or “bad things happen”), on both the good and the bad. Bad things happening to someone says nothing about if they are “good” or not. Accidents happen in this world and people get hurt and die. Evil is a choice made by individuals on a day to day basis, we may or may not encounter evil directly. But good and bad things happen to those people too. So “bad things” will continue to happen to “good people” (as well as the converse) as it has absolutely nothing to do with God or His love.

Now then, to the “letter” of the statement “Why do bad things happen to good people”. What makes a “good person” anyway? To certain parents in the Middle East, for example, seeing their son blow himself up in a bus full of children is the ultimate “good deed”. They believe that he is going straight to heaven with God telling him “well done”. They call him a martyr and will venerate his memory forever. Certainly there can be no arbitrary standard about “goodness”. If there is even such a thing as “good” at all, it is not up to the individual to decide if they are “good”. It is not up to a given society to decide it either, as a society is just a collection of individuals. There has to be a Lawgiver, one who lays out that standard. And if we are to be forgiven for transgressing that standard, that is also, by necessity, only in the hands of that Lawgiver. Those are the rules we play by which establishes the “good”. Not our own rules, not our society’s. As children, our Father has already seen to all of this, and has answered our questions before we ever thought to ask them. Seek, and you will find.

Science and the Bible Agree

That’s an overarching truth you can apply to any number of topics, and I will delve into them eventually, but I wanted to write today about extra-dimensionality. Call it “Heaven” or “String Theory“, it is the truth of the unseen all around us. We see the world in 3 dimensions (length, width and height). We “perceive” the 4th (time). But what if there were 6 or even 7 more that we can’t see? That’s exactly what the “string theory” of quantum relativity tells us. Physics is the language of the universe, are we listening to what it is saying? I don’t want to go into the specifics of Kerr singularities, Calabi-Yau manifolds,  brane cosmology, Kaluza–Klein theory, etc. but they are well worth your while if you are interested in learning more. What does the Bible say about the unseen?

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Where is God/Jesus? Our dead loved ones? Angels and demons? What was surrounding Elisha that nobody else could see? What about Elijah‘s Chariot of Fire? How did Phillip travel miles in an instant? How could the Prophets see the future? The examples go on and on. An excellent book I can recommend is “Beyond the Cosmos” by Dr. Hugh Ross. Oh by the way, this is all intricately and inextricably linked to music…
